I haven't seen a plastic pump. actually, the *super* cheap ebay pump I got has a plastic impeller, but the body is aluminum.
I believe the Pierberg pump I got last year was all aluminum including the impeller. IIRC the stock pump that failed was too. This is an electronics failure, not mechanical.
