Yes, get an iPod - if you buy the MOST integration kit and have iDrive, it's very slick. It's expensive overall (the iPod is the chepest part by far) but the usability is excellent and the upload of the song tracks to the iDrive system is reasonably fast. One tip, if you have lots of tracks rather than complete albums, arrange your iPod playlists so they don't contain more than 200 songs. In album or artist views, you can zip through the choices quickly (unless you have 5000 songs by 5000 artists), but the playlists can be a pain if there are too many songs in each because, unlike the iPod's own circular controller, the iDrive knob doesn't accelerate the scanning as you parse through the lists. Maybe in a future software upgrade.

The Gen 5 iPod with video will not display album art or videos or games on the iDrive so its a purely artist/album/track/time display. It will play the music associated with videos.
