No, that's exactly what it means. Like the "sad" icon on a thread would be for a BMW that had it's fuel pump die, or 'lightbulb' might signify "hey here's a new idea!". The big 'ol exclamation point warning icon means: "urgent!!". Though I agree with your point that it's not a big deal. Hence my effort to tell him I was just bustin his chops.
And the multiple question marks usually means irritation as opposed to a friendly non urgent question.
Ex: I was only going 55, why did the officer have to pull me over and give me a 300$ ticket????
Ex: Why did Mary choose a 328 instead of a 335?
Regardless, not a big deal. Just a pet peeve of mine:
