I take it you'll put them on the outside of the mesh?
As far as behind the grill goes, there's debate as to whether they are supposed to be horizontal or vertical is ok. I assume you don't want to put them vertical for that reason? Assuming they must be horizontal, are you not putting them there because the slats will partially block the laser transmitter?
Is there any disadvantage putting them in the red areas compared to the grill locations?
