Well it wont cause an engine failure, but it will be down on power, idle poor, and may use slightly more fuel.

The thing is our engines have a direct injenction setup and in a conventional EFI setup the combustion cycle is somewhat 'self cleaning', but with DI the setup is completely different so you cant use a cleaner like the popular subaru upper cylinder cleaner which you add to the fuel.
