I don't believe for one minute that Lewis will return to McClaren, especially as Alonso is (no doubt?) heading back there. In fact I wouldn't be surprised if Alonso's contract gives him some sayso in who is in the second car; Lewis would be the last person he would want there.
I think that a driver first and foremost wants to win the Driver's Championship and that's where Lewis is, or at least should be, in his thinking. And not just one time, (or in Lewis's case two times), but many times over and over if they can. To do that you need to have superior equipment; (think Vettel/Newey/Red Bull), and an incremental amount of money from another team would be secondary to the trophy(s).
