A few things I would check.
Is the USB stick formatted as FAT32.
Did you copy just config.nfm and pkgdb to the root of the drive?
If yes to both, then it may be a software issue on the iDrive.
And yes an Indy with an auto logic can update the CIC as long as they have the optical head for the unit.
