What would you fellow Coloradans recommend using as a Winter set-up?
I was planning on just buying steelies or some sort of skinny wheels for the winter and running Michelin X-Ice 3's. I would prefer to get a nice aftermarket set of wheels for early Fall, Summer, and late Spring and use my stock 162's as my Winter set up but I'm worried about the width.

I have an '07 335i sport running 225's up front and 255's in the rear, so I'm worried 9" is overkill for Winter tires. It's RWD and I plan to make the drive from Boulder to the mountains (Key, Breck, Vail, etc) just about every weekend, so I need the absolute best winter set-up I can run.

Unless I hear rave reviews about some other tires I'm pretty set on the X-Ice 3's. Michelin seems to be the dominant tire manufacturer, so I don't see myself moving away from Michelins.
