The issue with diesel for me, is the size of the bills when something goes wrong. Like DPF, injectors or turbo. On a 330i, the injectors do occasionally go but they are not £££££ to sort, but how often have you heard of DPF or turbo issues on a diesel? I'm sure the bill from one of those will considerably offset the MPG difference between petrol and diesel, hence I drive a 330i
