I feel that DRL are mainly for attention seekers. In the case of poor light conditions, what is wrong with just turning on the parking lights?
I'd feel embarrased to drive some of the cars with LED strips mentioned here. It reminds me of the time when glow-sticks were cool. BMW Corona isn't nearly as offensive and I don't expect it to go out of fashion when the moment for LED strips finally passes.
