some good reasons for us include increased longevity and significantly decreased potential for expensive repairs. Limited research tells me that the fine for an individual is up to $2500. If you are caught and fined, but in the meantime you make it for 40k or more miles, then you likely saved money in the end by avoiding a carbon buildup issue, dpf replacement, or similar high priced fix. Also, its extremely rare that an individual catches a lofty emissions fine, especially if youre in a low profile vehicle like a 335d. Your chances of getting a fine would be higher if you drove a bro'd out F-350 and blew smoke on everyone you drive around but thats just not in the same league as the guys on here considering DPF deletes
