Curious also.

Most race cars have sequential transmissions so skipping gears is not an option.

Skip Barber race series uses Formula Skip Barber open wheel cars with sequential racing transmissions and a manual clutch.

Lime Rock Drivers Club Track Days are generally in Spec Miatas with conventional H pattern MTs.
