Yes you are correct if you are lifting only one end of the car, the entire car weight is not factored in and the 1.5t jack can support the load. It hasmore than a 50% safety margin at that rating (not sure about the math for actual weight held on that corner).

like when you jack up a car, your usually jacking up only one corner... so is it safe to say that for an e90 n52, relatively 3.3k lbs, that it would be jacking up like 800 lbs? and therefore well within the reasonable limits of the floor jack?
or would it be safer to get a floorjack that could handle the entire weight of the car if not more...
