Yes the Nav app can mute music playing on the iPhone, but I'm trying to find a solution that avoids having to use the iPhone for music.
It just seems odd that a couple of years ago getting the car radio to mute was very simple because it was just a case of connecting a cable from the phone cradle to the phone mute lead at the back of the head unit, but with the iPhone I've not found a cradle that has what used to be considered a basic feature of a phone cradle kit.
