anyone know if you can remove the silver aluminum piece on the auto shifter? i would take a flat head to it, but don't want to break anything if there's a sure shot way to do it. The aluminum coating on my has warn down over time so its almost two toned.
i'm looking to remove it, sand it down, and have it match the piano black interior that i have painted on my trim like the picture below.
