The failures messages... typically sort themselves once on a decent piece of road again. May be after a start up and it can recalibrate/reset itself. Whether any have had to visit garages, I'm sure you will hear.
Wheels... 17" will work, 8" rims on all corners is best, with 225/45 spec'. I'm using 225/45 R17 94V XL winter's on the 330d Touring.
Winter tyres... chalk and cheese, compared to summer tyres.
