Since your engine is naturally aspirated you actually might not run into as many problems as you'd think in the long run. However, you could get a 2008 CPO 335i with some warranty left on it and not worry about maintenance for a little while. My 335i is a 2007 and does not have the extended maintenance warranty. However, I have come to the conclusion that I do not even need it; maintenance is so sporadic and the cost not as extreme as I believed it was going to be (oil changes, microfilter, etc).
Plus, the pumps have their own coverage up to 100K, and that is the main issue to be concerned about with these cars.
