BMW or indeed any manufacturer are not known for granting goodwill for nothing .......... also the fact that if the car was in warranty then that would have paid for the repair is a clear pointer that there is an issue they are accountable for. Guess its all down to how good a relationship you have with your dealer and how persuasive you can be with BMW HQ. I have had several "goodwill" repairs all totally FOC and for sure if you will give them £100 towards the new wheel they will take it as it considerably reduces BMW's contribution.
