Not to threadjack, but I bought the Itronics ITB-100HD recently. I was able to get it cheaper than the BlackVue (and I heard problems with them overheating so I was wary). I've been pleased. I think no matter what camera you have it's very hard to read license plates off to the side and the ones straight ahead are only readable if the light is very good or you are <10 feet away. Anyways, here is a video of mine in action:

Quality looks pretty good. The unit is pretty big compared to the blackvue Hahah.
The overheating issue has been resolved in version 2. All the units on sale now are version 2
