Ii tried from jumping it from under the hood first. So ive been desperate to fix this. And why would i need to replace the steering column? The wheel lock light came on after the battery was jump started 3 weeks ago. I was reading that the car needs to be hooked up to a bmw computer just to allow the active steering to be reinitialized. Your scaring me with that
