No issues for me and yes both of my cars are outside in the summer (blk seats as well). They also sure don't look like they are made of rubber on either side. More of a strong foam on the underside touching the seats, strong vynall on top. With my 5 year old, often the cleanest place in the back is under that protector, and I clean back there pretty much every week.
