With that said, I have not seen many bad wheel bearings on these cars, RWD or AWD, however, members have needed to replace them. Therefore, is it a common problem? No. Is it possible? Yes. If you suspect a bad wheel bearing (especially the front), why not drive the car down the road and turn the steering wheel left then right to load the bearing differently to see if you notice a change in the sound. That would be a tell-tale sign of a bad bearing. Furthermore you can simply jack the front of the car up and check for play.

If the bearings check out, I wouldn't rule out the tires. When I was younger I worked for Goodyear for a number of years. Poor alignments ruin tires quick, and sometimes you just get a bad new tire that has significant runout.
