Oli, more on the Clio please this week, I'm interested to see what you think after a while, particularly with regard to the short gearing on the motorway. You're not alone in loving it, EVO felt the same about their longtermer (run by someone who owns a Zonda).

Renault's are cheap, but they have almost zero residual value after 3 years and any sensible sort of mileage.
BMW residuals may be weak, but they do at least exist.
As to build quality - I looked into a renaultsport megane F1 team 235 recently and they do seem to fall to bits incredibly often.
