You absolutely need snow tires. Believe me I have driven in a snow storm with the summer tires, ITS SUICIDAL, NOT RECOMMENDED. With a good set of snow tires you should be OK. The lower suspension is not noticeable, get a higher profile tire. Its suprising how well the car handles in the snow.
