I just bought some wheel's off of Craigslist and my advice is to setup RSS feeds for relevant searches then use a browser or phone RSS app to notify you when a new add is posted. After I did that it only took me 3 days to find a great deal.

You can find the rss link at the bottom of every craigslist search results page. I had feeds looking for "bmw wheels" "e90" "e92" and "335i" all in auto parts section on craigslist.
