If you have a cracked screen (LCD underneath is ok), it's fairly easy to replace.
Ordered a new screen for £15 from Amazon:

Didn't need the majority of tools, just the two screwdrivers and suction cup.
Searched youtube for a guide and found this:
Took about 90 minutes, worst bit was unsticking the existing glass, but otherwise was pretty straightforward. There is a delicate rubber seal that runs around the edge of the screen that got a bit damaged, but can't see this with a case on.
