Got a chance to work on the exhaust again today. Didn't need to cut the tips. Problem was I didn't cut enough length off originally and the whole muffler was pushed back to far. It was a late night and I guess I was more about getting it done now than getting it done right. Once I took off a little more, got the dounuts to hang straight up and down, which sucked the tips in a lot.

Can get it further in by just cutting more length off and using the clamps to force the muffler to swing in if need be, but I think this looks fine now. No need to cut the tips at all on non-LCI, just take off more where you attach the y-pipe.
Also, I didn't notice any noise increase at all, but the tip is still further out than the bumper, although barely.
