BMW according to Bentley manual says NOT TO lube the pins, I think their incline is towards replacing these often rather than servicing. They are not cheap though.
I lubricated mine, but with something safer for rubber.
The pins and the rubber boots they go into need to be checked and replaced if worn out. Pins need to be cleaned good, looking shiny, when doing any break work. Break cleaner and some scrubbing with plastic edge cleans them.
