If you disable the egr and the ecu requests it. The ecu compares what it expects to see flowing through the maf with what is actually passing. If egr is blanked then the maf will be flowing more as the engine air consumption is the same but now it isnt getting any egr. If the two numbers diverge by a certain amount it knows there is something wrong. Ive written that so many times. In your case its been mapped out so no worries.

Thank's for the reply! I'm in the process of exchanging the egr bypass for the correct type, hopefully I will be fitting it at the weekend.
