If you have an internal control (thumbwheel) to adjust the headlamp aim you have halogens, if you have no adjustment you have xenons (as they auto-adjust). All BMWs move the headlamp aim up and down whether they're halogens or xenons.
Drive it at night and then you'll know....
EDIT - just seen the pic. Mr Kipling halogens.
