JH, after several months of trying, I was able to get Vincent at Flemming to agree to removing my intake manifold & cleaning as needed (different adapter required). I believe he charges 400 for the gassers. Not sure where you live, but it may be worth it at that price. Can you post your dealers written recommendations? I feel like there must be more to it than just carbon cleaning. Is this still your bad dealer or did you try taking it to another one?

One thing you could try in the interim is tossing some BG244 (http://www.bgprod.com/products/products.html) in the tank, run the car until very hot, toss some BG109 in the crankcase & let it sit at 2k rpm for 10 (recommended by BG) to 20 (recommended by diesel forum goers) minutes, change oil &filter, continue driving on your tank of 244 and see if your problems improve at all. I've always been semi skeptical about these types of products, but BG does make some good stuff and your in the perfect situation to try it out. The worst that could happen is that you still need carbon cleaning afterwards.

PS, when PR was talking about removing the foam, I think he meant something like this: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=797822. I doubt this will help you, but just for reference.
