At the risk of being boring and getting back on topic how did you find out it was buckled. Did you go to the dealer or tyre fitter? and is it the new rim from the kerb incident or one of the originals.

The council. I would not bother with the carrier pigeon but phone and ask to speak to someone about highways and maintenance. When you get throught to the right department explain your problem and ask how you go about claiming damage to your car wheel / suspension, etc.

New tyre / wheel is going to be the best part of £600 for the council not the usual £150 alloy and tyre so I guess they may be a bit more investigating into this claim so have all your facts ready before you call.

Do not get into conversation on the DXB 310.4bhp rolling road or 13.x seconds 1/4 mile at the pod or what might be the right remap even if they are car enthusiasts you speak to - but you can chat up the secretary if she is hot.
