quick question

i did a lot of research before buying my 328. one of the things that i was informed with was that both 328 and 335 come with sport suspensions - my research on the internet confirms this on mulitiple occasions. however when i look at the space in the wheel gap between my cheap standard 17s (bought them for winter) vs another 3 series with sports package (18" rims) the space between the tire and the body is a lot more space (3.5 fingers) than my friend's 328 with sports package (2 fingers).

i just called the dealer and they are saying ths same: if you want the sport suspensions you have to go with the sports package.

so is it true, you have to get the sport package for your car if you want the sport suspensions and lower ride?
