I'm against using ramps period. Jack stands and a jack and tire underneath method is the only method you should use or a damn lift. Its worth it dude. Its your life.

On many cars hell you don't even need to anything. Get underneath and do your business there is always enough room. Im talking about cars that are higher than our cars. On my X5 you dont even need anything. On an E46 XI you dont so much clearance under that.
Do you think the ramp will just magically collapse? I don't understand why you think a jack & stands is inherently safer. I use ramps for maintenance that does not require the removal of a wheel, and jack & stands for everything else. Both methods are perfectly safe, in fact there is way less margin of error using the ramps, just drive on, set brake, chock wheels
