The stock RFTs have absolute shit treadwear, stiff ass sidewalls which are bone-jarring on bad pavement and as you said, are heavy and expensive.

In regards to road noise, they aren't that bad compared to my previous set of extreme performance summers (Dunlop Direzza Z1) and aren't the absolute worst in terms of dry traction. But, there are FAR better tires out there. Heck, I think my all-season Continental DWS rival the stock RFTs for dry traction and have better treadlife to boot.
