Big thank you. I did mine yesterday and because of this write up, i was confident and just pulled it out after removing the torx behind, took 5 mins. On my 06, and not sure for others, i pulled the left side first as the wires for the controls which is attached to the actual steering was on the right. So if I had pulled the right side first, I may have yanked the wires out.
