Mine came off without holding the trigger. Who ever suggested to brace your arm on the armrest and use it as leverage to pull the knob off was spot on. Needed a lot of force and used two hands but it came off and was no where near damaging any facial parts or car parts! BTW performance knob looks and feels awesome!
