I have a 335i m sport coupe and stuck with 193 18inchers, despite being tempted with the 225's. I am so glad. The ride is great, firm but not uncomfortable and miles better than my Z4 3.0 that was on 18's. The dealer said he found the 535d on 19's bad and on that car the tyres are not rflats.
However the 3 series was set up to use rflats where the 5 never was and has suffered since.
Basicly 17's offer bets ride but look too small, 18's best combo for looks and ride and if you do find it too harsh you should not be in the market for this sort of performance car. 19's look great but only buy with normal tires and be prepared to change them in the rain or not get home.
