It's power to weight... Big deal really. They're running in a straight line for god sake. If one car runs 10s then it doesn't matter if it was a billion dollars. A 9 second civic "beats" it

Back in the C5 Z06 era (02) we had guys on Corvette forum break into 9s. ZR1, Z06, Mustang, Viper, 911, Gallardo... ALL of these cars have "Veyron beaters". That's really not the point of the Veyron honestly, but I get that many are just fixated on drag times and TX mile run speeds.

It's ludicrous to think that because the Veyron is $1M it should somehow magically be "unbeatable". Maybe if it had countermeasures? Roflmao. Like it could deploy oil slicks.

You certainly can't stop someone from taking any POS and getting it to run 9s so it can take the Bug in a straight line though.

And yes, the GTR is absolutely a POS next to the Bug. I owned one about a year and moved on. It's a great regular car that can go really fast for cheap (like a Mustang, Z06, previous GTRs going back 3 generations, MKiv Supras, Evos, Vipers and the list goes on), but it isn't a friggin Veyron! (Sort of hilarious even having to say that)

Anyone who gets some sort of ego validation from their car being modable to "Veyron speed" should just study this list (spoiler... There is a 210mph 1997 VW GTI on it):
