Got my f30 328i loaner today as well and OP is right on. This car is so unimpressive I can't believe it's a BMW. It is nowhere near as smooth as the i6's. But for the bmw badge on the steering wheel, i would think it was a gm. Can't wait to get me 2007 335i back. Even my wife said the f30 has no "wow factor."
