Both are like that. I assumed that is there to hold the spring in place when the suspension is off loaded. I should have done me research prior installing not after. I have seen hooks that keep the spring in place in the past so that was mine natural assumption. Especially because both looked identical. Same with the mechanic (we are friends) who has done thousands of suspension jobs but never with SP perches.
