You're 100% spot on. That is the oil change indicator. IF and that is only IF you doing the oil change every 15k miles than the Service indicator and the oil indicator will most likely show you the same mileage. If you change the oil more often (like every 5k miles) and the indicators will not be showing the same mileage. Also the numbers will be different based on how hard you drive the car. The maintenace interval will always be at around 15k miles but the oil change interval can varry based on driving conditions.
