Another option is to try and sell your 320i privately, then pay a large amount of cash towards the new car, which perhaps may give you more bargaining power too?

If you look on http://www.carsales.com.au, you will see the sales person is correct when he says that the dealers are selling them for between 60k - 65k. There are only a few Private Sales, and the one with the lowest klms is asking 60k.

It depends how urgently you want the new car? If you could afford to wait a couple of months, then you have nothing to lose by posting it on car sales for 60k and see how you go? I mean if it is only 1.5 months old with low klms, then someone is going to see that even at 60k, it is a bargain compared to 79k.

Just my humble opinion anyway

Edit: Just had a look at Brisbane BMW web site, and notice they are asking up to 79k for a lot of cars similar to yours. If they give you 52k, they will certainly be making some money
