i have the 5.25" woofers from the MB Quart RUA213 setup installed in the doors
and i have them high passed at 60hz (12db filter) and i have my SWS-8i low passed at 60hz (24db filter) and my handoff from the MBQ to the SWS8 sounds great
when i listen to any song now
the bass feels like its coming out of the doors, seamless
with my earlier setup, i was using the logic 7 4" in the doors
i had to cross them over at 90-100hz (any lower and they distort) and my sws-8 were low passed at 60hz (any higher and they sound too boomy)
i could feel the bass coming from under the chair, it didn't sound like it was coming from the doors.
now my only problem is the magnets on the 5.25" speakers rub against the door window frame.
they don't rub if i pull the door trim away from the door with my hand
and they rub much worse when i tighten the screws that hold the door trim in place
so next project is fitting some metal washers on those screws to give me a little extra clearance
i believe the max depth on the E92 is 40mm, the MB's are 42mm
so if it's just 2mm diff, i think a washer should cure that.
i'm hoping the MS-8 i got today can help me tame the harshness that i'm guessing is between 3-5khz on the MBs
