I'm thinking if I stay with Rainbows I would only need to install the mid, keeping the tweet and crossovers where they are - and this in turn would free the current 4" Rainbows to be installed in the rear deck (or sold).

well i'm hoping bright can be fixed with EQ
low frequency extension or mounthing depth can't be fixed
i believe the max depth on the E90 is 50mm
so you're almost a cm too much
