In my mind this is down to who arranged the repair, thus who has a contract with whom. If you arranged the repair on the authority of the insurance company, then it is between you and the repair shop and you need to insist that they provide you with alternative transport. If your insurance company arranged the repair, your contract is with them, the repair shop is a sub contrator to the insurer. In this case you need to insist your insurer arranges transport for you.
