I have been stalking this forum for 3 years and have been able to find the answer to every problem, except this one...

I have a 2007 328i coupe and the transmission has the infamous hard shift between 2nd and 3rd gears. By searching these forums, I have learned that the culprit is my valve body, and a coder will have to reprogram a used valve body (mechatronic) to match my car.

My question: I know the 2011 GA6L45R transmission has fixed many problems the older model has. Is it possible / would it be wise to buy a used transmission from a 2011 and swap it into my 2007? Of course, it would have to be coded, but is this a straight forward swap, otherwise?
