Question for those running staggered - specifcally 19's

As a relative new guy to the E9X scene, I'm not a prolific poster on here, but I do tend to sit back and read/digest as much as I can.....this has led to a question.

I'm waiting on my new 19" summer wheels to turn up (Work VS-XX) and am getting ready to order the tires up so I can be ready to go. The one thing I'm confused about is what seems to be a generally accepted preference for tire sizing of 235/35/19 F with 265/30/19 R. My confusion lies with the rear sizing and why 275/30/19 isn't used more commonly due to it's overall diameter/revs per mile being closer to 235/35/19 than the aforementioned 265/30's. Is it mainly due to available space (or lack thereof) in the fenders?

Your thoughts on the matter would be appreciated.
