Most likely cause is the valve cover gasket is leaking or the valve cover itself is cracked. Both are common problems. You could also have a leaking oil filter housing seal. I have seen the valve cover gasket replacement at a dealer costing around $850 and from indy shops it is usually around $650. If the valve cover is cracked add at least $400 to the bill.
