As I recall it cost about a grand, I lost my no claims bonus, my premium went sky high the following year and despite my best efforts my insurance company gave up trying to claim after nearly 2 years due to him being an Irish citizen.
His initial explanation was that I had 'entered the roundabout at speed and for no reason decided to drive into the front end of his car!'
My explanation: he wasn't observing the road markings, stated that he 'was following that fellow there', (another knob wit) and went straight ahead in a lane clearly marked as left turn only onto the motorway slip road and drove down the side of my shiny new coupe. The git.
I was not best pleased as you might imagine.
